Lower Falls Yellowstone River
With the sun coming up mid-morning in June a rainbow appears at the base of the Lower Falls. Many photographers crowd shoulder to shoulder to take this photograph.

Yellowstone in Winter
Textures and muted colors of aspens and fir trees create a quiet winter image.
Thermal Spring
Yellowstone may be the most unique National Park in the US. Its thermal features lend themselves to some creative photo editing.
Chihuly Christmas Star
This was an exhibit at the Phipps Conservatory, Pittsburgh at Christmastime.
Ice Cream Hills
A Yellowstone winter scene in the Hayden Valley which is a favorite of photographers. We have heard that the lone tree in this view has died, so the chance to photograph it again is gone, a reminder that nature is dynamic and sometimes fleeting.
Low Country Sunrise
On a hot, muggy morning in a mosquito infested marsh this stunning sunrise came into view. Unfortunately, this photo brings back memories of fogged lenses when we moved from air-conditioned vehicle to the humidity of the marsh and to our misery for having forgotten the bug spray!
Monument Valley Study
While in the southwest US for a photography workshop organized by our mentor, Russ Burden, Russ posed as the ‘unknown’ photographer silhouetted against the iconic formations that rise up in Monument Valley.
Leprechauns Nearby?
A rainbow appears after a storm on a road in northern Scotland. Photographers leap out of their vehicles for such opportunities.
Landscape near San Diego River
A foggy morning in southern California demonstrating that one can take photographs in all types of weather conditions.
Approaching Storm Scotland
The turbulence of gale force winds and approaching rain squalls created the dynamism caught in this image.
Self Portrait in Hot Rod with Sunstar
On a trip tp Virginia to celebrate Chris’s mother’s 90th birthday, we happened upon a vintage car show. The bright sunlight made photography a bit of a challenge but this brilliantly polished hot rod with hits hood up and lots of “plumbing” showing attracted our eye. We did a self portrait with sunstars just for fun and liked the outcome!
Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness
Situated on Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle commands a defensive position. This structure was built in Medieval times on an earlier fortress and was the site of many battles between the English and the Scots.
Blue Angels over El Centro CA
While “glamping” in the desert with friends, Barry and Toni, in March, 2017, we had the opportunity to attend a Blue Angels show. This particular show is the end of winter thanks and farewell by the Blue Angels before they head out on tour. We liked this image for the “bird” and exhaust pattern over the heat-wave distorted view of the town.
